So far to count there has been a total of 4151 attempts by spammers to register an account and the day isn't even over yet there will be many more attempts. By the time you read this message it will be past 4151 attempts.

It does 4 tests to see if they are human

#1: Dumb Spam Bot Test
#2: Ghost Radio Test
#3: Ghost Text Box Test
#4: Fake Captcha

Test #1
Most spam bots fail the Dumb Spam Bot Test because they are well, dumb and don't know to look for it
because my anti-spam modifications are not part of the standard phpBB forum software.

Test #2
The spam bots most of the time pass the Ghost Radio Test because that test is designed to see if the spam bot is doing things that really shouldn't be possible. How it works is it's a clone of the Dumb Spam Bot Test but is hidden a second after the page loads or the user puts their mouse over it and the test is invisible. If a spam bot is caught interacting with this test when it would otherwise be impossible for humans then it fails the test but this does not happen often because like the dumb spam bot test the bots don't know to look for it. Also when this test is failed usually the dumb spam bot test will pass. The bots don't really understand the context of the questions and just are pressing buttons.

Test #3
The spam bots usually fail this one because they do not know to look for it just like the dumb spam bot test. The way to pass this test is by clicking the link that says CLICK HERE and a java script will interact with the text box changing it to the correct value. Like the Ghost Radio Test this test is invisible and cannot be interacted with (unless your a spam bot of coarse).

Test #4
Ah, the ol' Capcha... Every spam bot on the internet seems to know how to solve these. The spammer scum seems to have reverse engineered every type of Capcha out there and now the spam bots laugh at them. Years ago before I made all my anti spam mods I kept tweaking the Capcha making it harder and harder untill the point I had to try multiple time to solve one it was so hard to read and STILL the spam bots were solving them and auto registering. How infuriating. Now I prey on that talent of the spam bots. I have turned the rules upside down in favor of the humans and made it so the correct answer to the Capcha is NOTHING. that's right nothing. All you have to do to pass the Fake Capcha Test is simply not to take it and leave the text box blank. The spam bots don't know this and they always try to solve it and it doesn't matter how good the spam bots are at solving these they loose every time because it was a trap. This is my favorite test to watch them fail at. :-)

Here is a sample result:
