The zombie mod you likely heard of was the TwT_Zombies, most recent version of is Zombies5. Very accurate in depiction, but not at all these.
They look like this:
The pink/purple things are called mutons, the dino looking things are Quake Demons.

Hmm, the zombies described sounded like they were a bit different than these, though it's possible what I heard of was a previous version. These appear more like shambling custom skins rather than "proper zombies". I imagined a less preserved look. What I was told about was some brutish zombies that used weapons like flails or maces or something. Varying monsters in size and texture with different weapons. Though now that I think about it, that makes me think of those "football" Skaarj from WAAAY back in UT Gold. A cool mod all the same, and worth looking into and experimenting with. Depending on offensive capabilities, the Mutons might make an interesting addition. (If they're better than the Eants anyway!) The Quake Demons... I don't know, they look cool but something about integrating monsters from other games (or based off of) doesn't sit right with me. Hell, I even have mixed feelings on the Silver Angel skin, or Klesk (Alternate color Fisk) from Quake III Arena, and I enjoyed playing as something that hilariously crunchy! |
