Using the Desert Tactics map as an example...

Fire 4 or 5 alt's from the Hyper Flack in the general direction of gates.

Then Nuke one with the Venom...

Why do I GPF?

How do I fix it?

Your dealing with what I like to call 'Light Crashes'

Anytime you get an URender::OccludeBSP in your error message it means its a problem with the map.
It means to many surfaces are being lit up at once and when you look at them you lock up or crash. Their really is no way fix this sadly. This map is notorious for these kinds of crashes. Maps with complex surfaces tend to crash like this too. The Max and angels green bfg ball is the culprit that lights also the nuker ball from solar goddeses and purple flash of gates and blackhole explosions from max. Gauntlet use to crash a lot more untill I scaled back the lighting. Now it's a lot better but not perfect especialy on maps with complex surfaces like this map with it's terrain.

Hope that explains better.

That's why I started staring at a wall when starting the Friday 13th Burger wars map. If I look around at the beginning of the map, I lock up tight and have to reboot. Look at the ground or a wall, and wait until the game actually starts, then it seems ok. Really sucks when you start a siege map and lock up, then reboot, and all gems are gone by the time you get back up.

Your graphics driver must be extra fussy about this map because that's never a problem with me and I have OpenGL as my graphics driver. I would recomend downloading the exact driver I use off from the downloads section of the website for a more stable unreal experience

But why does it happen only at the beginning of the map? Strange.
