I'm not sure if WC has mentioned it here yet, or if the message is outdated by now, but I'll say it anyway. From what I understand, Siege is an ongoing project that is worked occasionally from time to time. While the intention is definitely to release it, so as not monopolize it's great appeal, this is not to be done until it has been completed. WC is not one who likes to release inferior material. He wants to fix up all the unpolished and inefficient coding of his predecessors while making it more user friendly and editable so people can have it the way THEY want it, so he won't forever be the go-to guy for tweaking minor things for everyone from now until the Sun burns out. He's got other priorities! Unfortunately, while this means that the quality should be impressive, it also means that it will take time. And with holding down a job, bills to pay, and a server to moderate, in addition to other projects, there simply isn't a wealth of time to spare for this, let alone anything to do just for the fun of it! While I am sure the Public Release is in the works for some point, there isn't really a set date for it. It's not something to expect anytime soon. If your "Map Editing" was referring to adding monster data, I believe there is a separate server for that. Although there is some training and basic material to look into first. You'll need to apply for it first, so express that interest to him at some point.
That's all from the Necro-Secretary, *rolls eyes

Stupid question. How do I install this? I unzipped it. put the .int and the .u in the system folder and nothing. Tried installing the Zip with umod installer. Nothing. 2 blank game types appeared in the type list. when i chose one of the blank types and started a practice session, the game crashed saying some package was missing...

anyone? Does Ut have to be 'installed' for this mod to work? UT can be played directly from a folder without being 'installed'. I tried to install 2 different ways and it doesnt work Does the Siege mod require something in the registry referring to UT?

ut dose not require a windows type install, but dose require a good copy, most mods are just added to the ut system folderand some lines added to the ut.ini file, so how long have you been building maps, where did you learn? are you using unreal editor?

I made a copy of a fresh install long ago. I copied that folder to use as fresh Siege test space with no other mods. I tested this install before adding any files and it works fine. It's UT as it is fresh after installing both CDs and 4.36 patch. I do this to keep my play space separate from my test space. There was no readme.txt and i didnt see instructions to add lines to an .ini file. Been building maps for years. Got my map making degree from BSP University using unreal editor.
